Install a Skill

This guide shows how to install any of the 12 aidimension skills into your AI agent. Pick your agent:

Claude Code#

# Add the marketplace (one time)
claude plugin marketplace add aidimension/skills

# Install one skill
claude plugin install aidimension-component

# Or install all 12
claude plugin install --all

Verify with /plugin list inside Claude Code.

Cursor#

Option A — Remote rule (Beta)#

1. Open Cursor → Settings → Features → Rules
2. Click "Add Rule" → "Remote rule (Beta)"
3. Paste the URL: https://skills.aidimension.io/aidimension-component.md
4. Save

Option B — Local file#

curl -L https://skills.aidimension.io/aidimension-component.md \
  -o .cursor/rules/aidimension-component.md

Restart Cursor. The skill is now active in every chat.

GPT (Codex / ChatGPT)#

Codex CLI#

mkdir -p .codex

  -o .codex/AGENTS.md

The Codex CLI reads .codex/AGENTS.md at the start of every session.

ChatGPT custom instructions#

1. Open ChatGPT → Settings → Personalization → Custom Instructions
2. Paste the contents of https://skills.aidimension.io/aidimension-component.md
3. Save

Windsurf#

Restart Windsurf.

Aider#

Aider reads AGENTS.md from the repo root.

Cline / Continue / Other VS Code extensions#

Most VS Code AI extensions auto-load any .md in .vscode/ or .github/.

Using the CLI#

The CLI works for any agent:

# List all 12 skills
npx @aidimension/cli@latest skills list

# Install one (auto-detects your agent)
npx @aidimension/cli@latest skills install aidimension-component

# Install all
npx @aidimension/cli@latest skills install --all

# Update
npx @aidimension/cli@latest skills update

The CLI writes to the right location based on which agent is detected:

• Claude Code → ~/.claude/plugins/
• Cursor → .cursor/rules/
• Codex → .codex/AGENTS.md
• Aider → AGENTS.md
• Windsurf → .windsurf/rules/

Verifying#

After installing, ask your agent:

"What aidimension components are available?"

A correctly-installed agent will list the 32 components and explain the variants.

Updating#

Skills are versioned. To update to the latest:

# One skill
npx @aidimension/cli@latest skills update aidimension-component

# All skills
npx @aidimension/cli@latest skills update --all

Pin a specific version with --version 0.4.1.

Uninstalling#

# CLI
npx @aidimension/cli@latest skills remove aidimension-component

# Or delete the file directly
rm .cursor/rules/aidimension-component.md
